DEMOGRAPHICS AND LIVING HERE
Battle Creek motivates. With a modest cost of living, a climate less severe than Michigan’s western shoreline, and a vitality that permeates education, arts, culture, and recreation, Battle Creek residents rest assured their community extends a welcoming hand.

From pre-school to higher education, to the skilled trades and fine arts, innovative and nationally-recognized educational and training programs prepare Battle Creek residents for its breakfast food processing, world-class auto parts supply, and dynamic aviation and aerospace industries.

Battle Creek reflects the best values of America’s heartland. Its Linear Park winds throughout the city for family strolls, rigorous jogs, or bicycling in a scenic setting, while elsewhere in Battle Creek historic sites are carefully preserved. Battle Creek invests in technologies for tomorrow, taking full advantage of its outstanding public infrastructure and a city-wide OC-48 optical Ethernet fiber ring.

ARTS & INDUSTRY COUNCIL

The Arts & Industry Council places discernable emphasis on creative industries and cultural economic development; so much so, that the Arts & Industry Council contracted with Battle Creek Unlimited for staffing and management services in September 2005. This formal partnership affords the Arts & Industry Council and Calhoun County a valuable advantage. The arts and culture community now has access to the same economic development tools and services that were once only available to manufacturers; and by partnering with artists, manufacturers have the ability to strengthen product design capabilities. Both organizations anticipate that this partnership will create jobs, grow the arts, enhance quality-of-life, and generate community wealth.

ARTS AND CULTURE
The Greater Calhoun County is home to over 60 arts and cultural organizations and hundreds of talented artists - fine artists and furniture makers, dancers and dabblers, professionals and amateurs alike.  Whether you like the symphony or the art museum we're confident we'll have something for you.  View the Arts & Industry Council's events calendar and learn more about Battle Creek's other cultural assets.
