The Battle Creek Aviation Smartzone™ is a technology development program for the City of Battle Creek which utilizes the area’s unique capabilities and competencies in aviation and aerospace. The Battle Creek Aviation Smartzone™ is one of 11 designated statewide through the Michigan Economic Development Corporation's Smartzone program. The Smartzone program has linked the capabilities of Western Michigan University, Kellogg Community College, domestic and international business partners, and federal and state military and training partners to provide unparalleled capabilities for training and research.
